First a little about the background story. The year is 1897, Europe has been ravaged by Baron Battenberg's steam powered war machine for 5 long years. Time is running out of you as Baron army is getting stronger by each day. Onboard Britians explorer and master of fighting Dirk Valentine is ready to strike at the heart of Baron empires! Nitrome just never disappoint with their game quality, the music, graphics are all unique and top notch. And the most important aspect for an action game is of course the animation & gameplay, Dirk Valentine and the Fortress of Steam doesn't fail either. The control is simple, but the gunplay element is a little deeper than others action game. Use WASD to move, W to jump and S to drop through the chain bridge you created. The chain gun also your main weapon is the core of the game, not only you can use it to dispatch enemies and collect unreachable place, it also create bridge between the same surface where you are standing. The chain you fire will bounced between walls, and it may create multiple chain bridge at once. But the previous created bridge will disappear after another shot from you. There's a lot of level you can unlock, the first mission also act as an tutorial will teach you how to control your character and your chain gun.
