Mahjong are considered as an adult game and usually involve in money, you can say it is a gamble but you won't find it in the casino. Of course kids can play it for fun too just like a card games. People usually invite friends or families to their house and set up a few 4 person table for the game. This is the real Mahjong game, not the Mahjong Solitaire you have seen on the net. Although it is played with standard Mahjong tiles, it has nothing to do with Mahjong. Mahjong created by gamedesign Japan is a very well made Mahjong game that provide enough challenge for the player. It is great to see the maker has translated it to English, although you may not understand what PON or TSUMO is. Mahjong is quite complicated in nature that's why it never appeal to children, and different players have different playing rules. And the rules of this game is of course set by the creator. The rules are pretty standard, i recommend you to visit GameDesign.jp to learn how to play if you never played Mahjong before. Or you can visit WIKI for more information. Each player take turns to discard a tile on his deck, you may PON or KAN from other players discarded tile if you have 3 or 4 of the same tiles on hand. You need to collect different set and pair of tiles to win. When you can win, there is a button TSUMO for you to click. How much you would win depends on the tiles you have. Mahjong fans would be happy to know that they can play this game online for free! It's hard enough to find Mahjong games, not to say a free one, but Mahjong Japanese has both! It is so well made that i'm sure all the crazy Mahjong fans would keep coming back for more. It would be great if the author create a multiplayer mode, that will make this game perfect.
