Description: One of the best shooting flash games ever made and I'm not exaggerating. I can't exactly remember when it was first released, but it should be around 5 years. Yes, 5 years and there is no sign of outdating in terms graphics, sound or game play thanks to the clean and sharp designs. It is such a waste as I don't see this amazing flash game available on many others game site, and I'm sure many gamers never get the chance to play this as at that time flash games site are not popular among English community. Kanhou is made by Japanese developers, thus the game is in Japanese, but don't worry about that you can still figure it out how it works and play after a few times trying. Kanhou is actually a 2D side view ship battle, although you can't really see the water in game. But that doesn't take away the excitement of sea battles, thou there's a time I thought I was controlling a futuristic sport car. The control is very simple, you can move back and forward to avoid incoming fires and use mouse to adjust your angle of fires. Enemies sometime hide behind rocks and mountain, you need to find the right angle to fire in order to hit them. Beside the normal machine gun, you are allowed to carry one secondary weapons with you. Secondary weapons and upgrades of your ship are done after each level, use your available sources to upgrade the ship abilities and buy new cool weapons. Many of the special weapons are very cool to look at and quite useful depends the enemy you are up against, for example: flak is effective against fighter planes and cannon bombs are great against large shipyard. It is rare to see a game that are able to bring out the excitement of battles, cross firing is just amazing that I'm sure you won't have time to rest before you complete the mission. Each level when come to an end, you'll have to fight against a tougher and larger boss mechanism. It's very arcade style if you played a lot of side scrolling shooting arcade games. The game is not to hard, unless you play it on the hard level, it is not easy too, just right at the middle which provides you enough challenge to enjoy the game. The graphics as I mentioned, everything is in black and white. But the level of details doesn't lack here, although the level design is bland, the ship, planes and especially boss machine is very well design with even cooler side effects back it up. The sound is also not lacking here, nothing stand out, but it gives a really satisfying battles sound effect throughout the game, and you would never feel annoyed playing with the sound on. The gameplay and control is easy to understand and learn, since most of the gamers here may not understand Japanese, you would have a hard time when it comes to upgrading and buying weapons. Well.. all you can do is to try it all yourself by random clicking and choosing until you get the meaning of what buttons is for what function. All sides say, Kanhou is an amazing games, never a flash games provide such compelling experiences. This game will always keep you coming back for more, not because you haven't finish it yet, but the addictiveness and enjoyment you get from Kanhou.
